W. Mike Huddleston, O.D.
Dr. Huddleston


Dr. Huddleston has been practicing Optometry in Cookeville for over 20 years.  He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and received a Doctor of Optometry degree form Southern College of Optometry. He completed an externship at Bisson Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee and is certified in ocular disease treatment. He is a member of the American Optometric Association,  Tennessee Optometric Association, Upper Cumberland Optometric Association and the Contact Lens Society. His involvement in the community includes previous service on the boards of United Way and Putnam county YMCA. He has been President of the Noon Day Lions Club and is a graduate of Leadership Putnam.  He also serves as the Team Optometrist for Tennessee Tech University.  In 1987, he was selected as Outstanding Young Man of Putnam County. He was selected as one of "America's Top Optometrists" in 2006 by the Consumers' Research Council of America.

Dr. Shepherd is a native of Cookeville and graduate of Tennessee Technological University.  He is licensed by the Tennessee Board of Optometry in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.  He provides vision examinations, corrective spectacle and contact lenses, therapeutic eyecare, and medical management and referral services for your various ocular conditions and surgical care. 

Dr. Shepherd received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2005, after completing externship training at The Eye Center at Southern College of Optometry, The Branch Medical Clinic at Mid-South Naval Base in Millington, TN, and Dr.’s Whitley and Hughes in Covington, TN.  Since that time Dr. Shepherd has been in practice here at Huddleston & Shepherd Family Vision.   

Dr. Shepherd is currently serving on the Tennessee Optometric Association Board of Trustees, and is active in the American Optometric Society and Upper Cumberland Optometric Society.    Along with these duties Dr. Shepherd serves as a deacon in his church, is president of the Cookeville Noon Day Lion’s Club, and a member of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce’s Music Development Committee.
